The other day when I finished mowing, I went to throttle the engine down to shut it off, and nothing happened. How do I adjust the throttle linkage? It is a Briggs 12.5 hp i/c quiet engine. Thanks

look at the engine to see if the cable has come loose from the clamp or the wire end has broke

if the throttle link is fine then check the spring this usually happens over a period of time but is worth a try:smile:

Ok, I'll check that. It is an 11 year old mower, so maybe it broke

it could be broke at the throttle control under the dash

Ok, just solved the problem... It wasn't actually the throttle cable, it was that the carb just needed adjusted. It wasn't allowing the throttle to change the RPMs. Now it runs great and idles down perfectly. Thanks for your help guys!
