My hr 215 sx, gxv 140-135 was leaking oil from the bottom of the crank shaft, I removed the old seal, went to the local mower repair shop and bought part # 91201-zg9-u71 and was told that was the replacement seal even though it was thicker than the old seal, I destroyed the new seal trying to seat it, the old seal is not even as thick as a dime, where the new one is about a 1/4 inch thick. What is the right part # and how do you seat it? any information will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I got the lower oil seal from PartsTree.com . Your part number (91201-zg9-u71) is the same part number on PartsTree.

It does say that that this part replaces 91252-888-003 .

Mine installed with surprisingly light finger pressure, I didn't have to drive it in with a socket. But no leaks so far.

Regards

Jeff

Jeff, did you put the flat side of the seal to go into the engine?

No, flat side of the seal should face outward.
