Honda HRB 475 Help

Good Afternoon!

I am looking for help on my Honda HRB 475.

The battery is about 10 years old and does not give the power to start the engine, this has not been an issue for use as I have been turning the key to on and starting by hand using the cord.

Today, when I was cutting the grass and all was fine. I stopped the mower to empty the basket, and when I tired to restart the key would not turn. Like it is stuck in the off position?

I have tried spraying WD40 into the barrel, but it seems to have not helped.

Any ideas?

If your key is in the off position then take the kill wire off of the coil and see if it will start...... Be sure to have a long screwdriver in your back pocket to pry the plug wire off to kill your engine......

If that works then a new switch is in order for your mower.......
