Just bough a Husqvarna ZTH6126 with a locked up motor. Unit is in great condition otherwise, so I'm going to fix it. What are my options? Should I stick with EFI, or would a carbureted engine be a more reliable choice? What engines would be a good replacement? Are short blocks available rather than complete engines? Thanks for the advice.

Don't have your engines numbers but yes they do have short blocks and should have direct replacement engines for your unit. Assuming this is a commercial unit and motor should run a 20w-50 oil in it. Have done a few of those short blocks and a few long blocks as well on the efi. Some failing just at 100hrs to 400hrs. Not a fan !!!!!

Thanks for the reply! The update is: I got lucky. The engine wasn't seized. The upper bearing in the PTO clutch failed, and stopped the engine. $150 clutch, and good to go, or so I thought! Got it all back together, fired right up, and ran great, for about 15-20 minutes, then died. I'll start a separate thread. I need help!
