Clutch cable in 2 pieces

Hi all,
I have a Toro Wheelhorse 12-38XL rider and as I was about to install the battery I saw the clutch cable broken in 2 where the battery box goes. I do recall the clutch making a weird clanging noise last summer. My question is about the install. From the parts diagramView attachment Toro Mower Parts Guide.pdf I see on page 8 the cable starts on one side of the mower and swings across to the other side where it connects. This there something in the middle that keeps the cable in place? Is there anything I need to be aware of when attempting this install?

just make sure the bends are not too sharp and no moving parts can touch it, use cable pull ties if need be to keep it in place and away from anything that may damage it.
