Hi All.

I throw a connecting rod on my Poulan Mower with B&S Engine 31P777-0299-E1 engine. When I opened it up this part was laying in the sump. I can not find it on part drawings on the internet.

Appears to be compression release normally located on camshaft gear.

You'll have to get a new (or good used) cam. Since they're made together.

If the threw the connecting rod he will have bigger issues than just needing a new camshaft. That compression release is still in one piece, so i would say the rod hit it and broke the cam lobe or something.
