2013 Simplicity regent ex with 38 inch deck

Hello, I have a 2011 Regent 46 inch deck with a 20 hp Kohler courage(new short block last year) and this week ran into a 2013 Regent EX 20/38 with 55 hours. I think I am going to sell the 2011.

Was wondering if I can put the 46 inch deck on the 2013 regent ex. I think I will have to change the rear cables as the Ex has only 1 for the 38 inch deck.

Seems the 2013 Regent, with the briggs v twin runs smoother than the Kohler, which is staring to smoke again only after 100 hours and well kept.

My older Regent had a list under the hood to all the mower deck sizes it came with. BTW 100 hours on the Kohler and smoking??? Hmmm My Mothers is doing the same and it may have about that many hours. Also I noticed the valve cover/gasket was a little loose. You might look into that. I am not sure it that was its problem, but I took care of it while I was there.
