Mower deck Want to reduce mower deck size on LT1024 from 50" to 42"

I have an LT1018 with 42" deck. The motor took a turn for the worst. Since then, I bought an LT1024 with a 50" deck. Nice wide cuts, but the 42" deck grooms my lawn better. Also, I cannot park the mower in my shed with a 50 inch deck. I believe all the part numbers for deck mounting are same for both tractors. My question is if I can slip the 42" deck off of the LT1018 onto the LT1024 without a bunch of hassle.

Should be interchangable
Belt will need to be replaced as the 42 uses a shorter one which hopefully you still have with your other deck.
