Old but good mid 70s tiller ?

I am wondering if you can replace the lever that moves the dog clutch thing??(sorry I don't the right name ) without taking out the drive shaft out?? because I'm trying to get that thing in there and its not looking good or I'm missing something?? thanks in advance trying to get this thing finished even though I have four feet of snow on the garden... more specically I guess to be clear I had to replace the little screw that moves those two mechanisms together... thanks chris its a 8 hp troy bilt workhorse tiller
