Something is locked up in this Craftsman tiller. Not sure if the chain has come off and is in a bind or what. The part number is Tiller gear case
Parts #: 986-0091.
Seems the edges overlap each other and are crimped.

Question is, are this repairable? A new one, from what I can find is about $200? Probably more than the customer wants to spend. I haven't asked yet. Considering I'm having trouble getting tines off, the labor plus the parts is gonna be up there pretty far. Unless separating the gear case is going to be easy.

Any thoughts?

The front tine tillers made by MTD has a non serviceable case and was not intended to be disassembled.
