I have had a kohler engine for about 7 years and recently melted the breather seperator kit. Had a new one shipped and I installed it and cut about 2 acres and melted the new one. Was wondering what could happen to cause this.

possibly a hole in the muffler bloweing hot exhaust on the breather melting it. Can't think of anything else that would cause that much heat.

Where is it melting? Kohler makes many engines, those breathers were used most commonly on CV 11-18. If so it should be mounted right above valve cover a ways above exhaust port. If canister muffler is mounted vertically then thats a possibility. Maybe a pic would be good.
