You would have to know the no load engine speed your equipment runs at, the maximum rpm of the input shaft speed on your hydrostatic and the ratio of the pulleys on the engine and the hydrostatic. It would be really easy to burn up a hydrostatic by making it turn faster than it is made for. Another thought would be to buy a faster mower. Typically they range in speed from 5.2-5.5mph, then up to 6.2mph and as fast as 7.5mph if buying a rider type mower.

Short answer: Larger pulley on the engine, smaller pulley on the trans axle. If you intend to continue mowing, be aware that faster has to be controlled or you are not going to be a happy camper.

Otherwise, have fun.

If it is a vari drive or geared mower go ahead.
If it is a hydro drive mower you will damage and drastically shorten the life of the 2nd most expensive part, the transmission.
They all have maximum input speeds .

And if traveling speed could be safely modded (hydro, don't think so), but the blade speed will be too slow to mow. Just sayin...

This is like a can of worms being opened.

I think we need a little more info. Could just be an adjustment issue.
