I've got an old Ferguson Tractor that needs trans fluid. Since I'm not sure what's in it, and it's extremely low, I was needing to know what kind of oil to put back in it.
Three drain plugs, One fill hole. I've read where people have used 15/40 motor oil. They said it works fine. I've also read where you was supposed to use straight mineral oil. And something else about a "GL1". Which I'm not sure what that even means.

Thanks for that. So, I'm guessing that this is as good as hydraulic oil. It's mind boggling why it's as easy as this, but they sell so many different types? Straight SAE 80, Hydraulic 80/90 etc etc etc

It's all so confusing. Thanks for clearing it up.
