Repairs Belts Breaking

Hi all, new member here I have a Gravely ZT50 great machine cuts very nice but since purchasing it in August 2017 I have snapped 3 deck belts just wondering if this is a common thing with this model, has anybody else had problems like this. Thanks Mike.

No not a design problem.
Can be an operator problem but as there is no grass to mow ( til it rains ) Take it back to the dealer.
And most important , take the broken belt.
The wear pattern and type of fracture will tell the technician where the problem is.

Deck belts must be kevlar .
Standard belts can not take the shock loading from blade engagement.

Double read the operators manual as some require a soft start by engaging the blades at low engine speed while others need too be engaged at full speed and it does make a difference.

If you search "V Belt failure chart" you will find lots of material about belt wear & belt failure if you want to fix it yourself.
But new mowers should always go back to the dealer, just in case there is a manufacturing defect that does not become apparent till latter on, so you will have a warranty file to go back to.
