Hey all, I'm far from a mechanic, and need some assistance. One of my mowers is an old red and White Snapper 21 push mower. I really love it, it's light, steel everything, easy to push, etc. The engine is getting old (it's the second engine on it, a Briggs quantum 5.5).*
Here's the dilemma. The Briggs is getting old, and I REALLY want a Honda GXV160 on it. I was talking to a shop about it here in Phoenix and he was hesitant on saying yes*or no, because my mower doesn't have a safety bail and he said we would have to figure a way to bypass that. You know I never thought about that, my Briggs I can turn off with my throttle lever, and I guess new engines aren't like that?
I know I've seen old snappers with the commercial Honda engine on it, any ideas how to accomplish this, or rather what do I need to do? Sorry if this is a dumb question, ive actually only had BBC mowers, and this one doesn't have any of it, so I've never really thought about it.
Pics are the mower and how the current*engineshuts off.
