How to remove the hood on an X500?

How do you remove the hood on an X500? It looks almost like it should lift off.

First off, you need to buy you a JD X500 owner's manual, as it will show how the hood is removed. But, I will give you a couple hints. Raise the hood from the instrument panel and where it "hinges" in front you will see two brackets. BTW: unplug the headlight connector...second hint. Now, left hood from those two brackets... third hint.

Usually you just lift the hood, then pull out 'n up. But some are bolted on....:newhere:
