I own a Craftsman tractor 917.258660 1999 without a deck. I would like to buy a 42" deck 164963 that would fit between my fence gates vs the 46" deck that is standard for this mower. Could a 42" deck be assembled to my tractor and what if any problems would I encounter. All the lift ,clutch and hgt. adjustments are on the tractor .Any help would be appreciated thanks .

That deck will not fit your mower at all.

i WAS HOPING THAT THE 42" DECK WOULD FIT SIMILAR TO MODEL NO. 917.259567 THAT HAS A 42" DECK AND MY TRACTOR HAS VERY SIMILAR FEATURES SAME HP. FRAME SIZE AND CONTROLS.
