I have a Jacobsen turfcat t442D diesel Kubota Engine mower. Recently I lost power while mowing after 1/2 hour. I shut them all down and let it cool. After it cooled I checked the fuel filter and found it to be full of oil. Is the engine salvageable? What about the mower itself? Is there any value remaining?

Diesels recirculate most of the fuel they receive back to the fuel tank. There is probably a seal in your injection pump that is leaking engine oil into this stream. If that's the case, it shouldn't be that expensive of a repair.

Your engine should not have been damaged, either. Diesel fuel is called 'fuel oil' because that's what it is. In an earlier form of recycling, people used to add oil motor oil to their diesel fuel to get the last bit of good out of it.

I would guess the reason why you lost power is because your fuel filter became clogged.
