Have a roughly ten year old John Deere LA110 lawn tractor with a Briggs & Stratton 19.5 HP engine. Cold start no problem. Runs perfect when cutting grass. Problem lies when I shut it off and go to start it again when the engine is hot. It starts but the engine CHUGS heavily and BLOWS black smoke out exhaust for awhile then runs correctly OR doesn't start again until the engine has sat for awhile. Used carb cleaner to clean outside of carb and choke. Cleaned air inlet hole in gas cap. Always use gas less than 45 to 60 days old. Changed fuel filter.
The problem still is there. Looking for suggestions of WHAT TO DO NEXT??? Would direct carb throat application of carb cleaner and use of fuel additive Sea Foam be the next step??? What else should I be doing??? THANK YOU for your consideration and needed advice.

Check the choke operation, if it has automatic choke make sure its working right.
