No, the arm and leg are required when you deal with John Deere's.
I just had to purchase a starter for my F925 with a Yanmar diesel. Called JD and cost was $398 new and $269 remaned. Looked up starte for a Yanmar on the web and found new for $125 and reman for $79 shipped. JD did not get any money from me when i ordered the starter. I can buy starters for my truck cheeper than that.
