Looking to buy 2 rear drive wheels for the old Tuff Cut 34360 mower. Although the TroyBilt new replacement wheels look to be the same, the diameter of the drive gear is not.
-Does anyone know a workaround for this? (don't say to convert it to a push mower!!)
-Does anyone have an old mower to part out?
-Does anyone know if you could do a "re-tread" job on the old wheels? (There are some on YouTube that use a knobby bike tire and some screws, but that's too bush league for me)
-Maybe fill what's left of the old tires w/ rubber/silicone etc so at least they won't fall apart?
-Any way to take the tread off of a new wheel and remount it on the old grey wheel?

Thanks.

Is the replacement drive gear made to fit the new wheels. If it is then you can replace it and everything will work.

No, the new wheels for newer TB mowers has internal perimeter gear molded into the wheel. It is a slightly smaller diameter than my old mower's. The pinion drive gear will not coordinate with the new wheel.
