I have a Dixie Chopper Excalibur 3366 with a 1year old 36hp Briggs-Stratton engine. I recently replaced the electric clutch, PTO switch and choke cable, and hour meter (thought it was a tachometer too but was wrong). Everything has worked well for about two weeks then suddenly this last Saturday, the mower just stopped dead while mowing. I checked the fuel its good, the battery its good (electric deck went up and down great) then checked the fuses. All fuses were good except the 30amp starter fuse. I put in another fuse and kept mowing for about 15 minutes when it blew again! I put my last fuse in to get the mower back on the trailer to get it home.
Does any of this sound familiar to anyone's experience? I suspect my starter switch next, but not real sure what else to look into.
Any tips out there?

Sincerely, Rickoshay

30A starter fuse, no way the starting circuit draws about 2 Amps max.
The fuse is blowing because too much power is being dragged through it.
So either you have wired it wrong, one of the parts you fitted was wrong, or there is a short circuit.
