Hi my name is Gowri. I am a new member. We have a Kohler Command Pro 27 HP lawn Mower. It is about 4 years old. The Model No. is CV 740-3124. But normal maintenance such as oil and spark plug changes, we did not have any problem until recently. Now one of the cylinders is not firing. We want to change the ignition module and see if it helps.

before you buy a new module, try removing the thin wire that goes to the coil .
Modules only fail about 10% of the time they get replaced.
Generally it is the wire between the two coils that fails.

Run the engine for a couple of minutes then ground one coil out where that wire went and do the same with the other side.
It should run about the same no matter which side is grounded.
Expect some pops & bangs from the exhaust as the side with a grounded coil is pumping a cobustable fuel / air mix into the muffler which has a red hot wire mesh so some times it ignites & some times it don't.

Let us know what you find,
