drained battery

06 dixie chopper have to jump mower to mow. replace battery still same essue old battery, check out bad. when installing battery there is an arc

You will have to find out what is causing that arc. To my knowledge, no lawnmower has anything onboard which requires drawing a current from the battery when everything is shut off. (Autos do; but it's in the low milli-amp range.)

I would guess something is haywire in your alternator/rectifier i.e., the charging system. I don't know what else would be in a position to leak voltage to ground. You can check to see if it's charging the battery but even if it is, that doesn't mean that everything is A-OK with that system. If OTOH it isn't charging, then you need to fix that first.

If you don't get that fixed, you'll always have to jump start it. Or, if it is charging, you could put a battery disconnect switch on it if you don't want to play electrical detective.

I would look for a hot wire going to ground, or a closed relay that should be open.
