Hey, I have been working outdoors for a few years. Now I'm excited to get started in the lawn care business.

I will work by myself to get started, my budget is $5k. What equipment would you guys suggest for me to get started in small-mid size residentials areas? $1k is going to the trailer as i plan to start with an SUV.

I'd recommend a 36 to 48 inch commercial walk behind mower, a 21 inch mower to get anywhere you can't fit that, a mid-sized backpack blower and a commercial straight shaft trimmer. Personally I can't stand belt-drive mowers and would recommend a hydro unit instead but that won't fit in your budget very well unless you can find a low-hours used unit. Something like this, but not necessarily all Husqvarna.
