I have a Husq 22v46 riding mower. Recently, I began losing forward drive power on any kind of incline. Typically, on flat ground, it powers fine. When going up a slight incline (it used to power through these inclines), it now loses drive power (not motor power).

Any ideas on what I might check to remove the problem? Can't tell if it has drive oil that I need to check.

Well, I guess I can now reply to my own thread. After reading posts about other riding mowers losing forward power, they suggested cleaning out the crud--not only on the mower deck, but in the housing area where the drive belt to the rear wheels reside.

Lo and behold, one of the several pulleys supplying power to the rear wheels had a plastic shopping bag (like the kind you get in any grocery store) wrapped around the axle of the pulley. Once I ripped that out, the mower is good to go!

I've bookmarked this site. Good stuff here!
