I have a John Deere Z915B z mower. Sometimes it will start and sometimes not! Seems like it starts most often when cold and not so much when hot. We know it is an ignition issue because we can hot wire it with a long screw driver. We took it in to the JD place it was purchased, the kept it 8 weeks and basically did not listen that it was a ignition issue and replaced the starter, and, of course, the ignition issues remain! Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.... Susan

to get quality information out, you need to put quality information in :confused2:
Quality information is exactly what you see , hear, feel & small when the key is turned
Quality information is the make & model numbers ( s ) from the engine.

Susan,
The Z-Series Mowers have an issue with the ground cable corroding. The corrosion is so slight, you would never see it. Try loosening the ground cable on the engine block (big black cable coming from the battery. Follow it to the engine). Loosen the cable, ( I think its either a 10mm or 13mm bolt), clean the cable with some sand paper or wire brush, reinstall cable and tighten the bolt, and see if that fixes your issue.
