To water or not to water?

There's been a bit of a dry spell in my area. My garden could really use some water. But I always feel if I water it then it will become dependent on the extra watering. Do you water your garden or let it fend for itself?

Depends on how dry it is. Water if the plants stop growing or start to wither.

it will become dependent on the extra watering.

If you want a lot of veggies, give your garden lots of water...
You are not toughening op your plants by making them survive a dry spell, try to never stress your plants... unless they are really misbehaving. KennyV:smile:

If you do need to water, soak it deep, one good soaking/week will usually do it, depending on soil type! ~~ grnspot1110

Agree with grnspot110, frequent shallow watering just encourages weeds and no water will stress out your plants. A deep watering once a week is the way to go.
