Hi, I'm new here to this forum. I'm working on a Briggs and Stratton 19hp 33R877-003-G1. There is a medium knock in the engine. I took the engine apart and found he valve cap had come off and made it down into the crank case and got chewed up. I repaired the parts that got damaged but the knock is still there. The only thing that I notice is the play in the connecting rod. Can somebody tell me if his is too much play. It moves about a mm side to side but not in any other direction. YouTube link enclosed of connecting rod.

Didn't check your U-tube but slight side to side movement is no problem and not likely to make you knocking. More likely is play in the counter balance bushing at the crankshaft and there is no practical fix for that.
