My honda self propelled lawn mower will not roll back. How can I fix it?

I have a self propelled Honda Lawn mower that will not roll back. This mower is in good mechanical condition. How can I repair this problem? It has not been used very much because it will not back up.

Have you tried adjusting the cable tension for the self propelled system? I know that on my Honda HRX, there is a threaded sleeve with nut on the left side looking down towards the engine that can be turned to tighten or loosen the cable. If and when adjusted properly, the unit should roll backwards without any issue but if you engage the drive while rolling backwards it will lock up the wheels. If possible, check your manual for adjustment of the drive system. If this doesn't fix your problem, then I am lost because this is the only experience I have in this area. Good Luck.
