Hydrostatic Rider wants to die when you let off the pedal; what could be the cause?

I was able to get it to stay running by playing
with the reverse; netural; and forward lever.
in this case does the safety switch just need replaced then?

This is going to sound vague, but I am thinking that for some reason the mower is thinking it is in reverse, and is activating the safety system. Could be a short for the reverse safety switch. Could have something to do with the key switch interlock module.
