I have a 1984 John Deere 116, I put a new stator on it a couple of weeks ago, and at first was getting 13 volts for a reading according to my volt meter, then a couple of weeks later I was getting a reading of 4.6 volts.

It would be helpful to the members trying to help YOU .... IF you supplied your engine make, model, type ...
numbers SHOULD be located on engine ....

My model number is 402707 Manufacture Briggs & Stratton, one cylinder 4 stroke 16 hp
