Have a question and no one seems to no the answer, not even the dealers. My rear lawnmower has 5 cutting heights. It goes from 1.5 to 4. I'm trying to figure out what cutting height 2 3 and 4 are. The dealer said 1/2 inch incriments, thats wrong. If you do that it would come to 3.5 rather than 4. Does anyone know what the other height adjustments are. Been trying to find out for 2 years now. Thought I would give it a try with this forum, thanks

Cut heights are quite arbitary .
Get a styrene coffee cup.
Put the mower on a flat surface.
Inflate the tyres to the propper pressure.
Put your blades on the top position and turn the blade by hand to make a mark in the cup.
Do the same for all the other heights
Remove the cup and measure the heights.
Now
Tyre pressure, your weight, grass type, grass height, blade type & blade wear will all affect the actual cut height.
Get a styrene coffee cup.

It actually came from some one else on here.
I have some wooden blocks 3" x 3.5" x 3.75" to use for setting the deck.
Remember the cut height will be at the lowest point which should be with the blades pointing foreward & at the front of the deck.
What most fail to understand is the a slightest pressure difference in the tyres will make a very big difference to the cut, as does the weight of the driver.
One reason why they don't mark the deck heights in inches.
Go to a sports store and get a 0-20 psi pressure gauge to keep your tyres even.
the standard car 0-80 psi ones are not accurate enough nor easy enough to read 0.5 psi differences.
