Good afternoon hope everybody is well. I have a cheap D140 Mower that I bought years ago with over 350 hours on it now to mow around the house and other pieces of property that I used to pay for the mower. Well anyways this year I go to get it out and notice that the rear right shaft and seal that comes out of the transmission is leaking fluid. I also noticed that the wheel would actually move left to right. I really hope I am explaining this enough to understand. Would this be a easy fix or am I going to have to buy a new transmission. If you have any more questions please ask me.

Is the shaft and wheel moving at the same time left to right?

JD do not sell tranny parts so you will have to get them from the tranny maker.
Pull the tranny out then thoroughly clean the tranny and I mean clean enough to eat off type clean.
Then split the box
There is usually a clip that holds the axel in place .
But pull it down first as the cases may be damaged beyond repair.
