Unknown hours on this 2009 unit, was difficult to start (starter would stall) when I first got it, oil looks good, removed valve covers and adjusted them, cyl1 was fine but cyl2 was out near .010" .. set those to .05" fires right up half crank cold now.

Throttle cable was bent so "low" was still 2400rpm, I resolved the cable and re-secured now it's 1200rpm low and was only 3200rpm high.

I loosened the governor bolt holding the assembly which allowed me to add about 1-2mm of throw for the high throttle, that didn't make any difference, I then moved the governor spring from hole position 2 to hole position 4 which got me up to 3400-3450rpm PTO off no load.

Any words of advice on how to get to 3600 and maybe any other gotchas I should consider for this engine/mower?

According to Kohler that engine is governored at 1600 idle and 3300 high speed. Getting higher speed would require replacing the governor spring to a higher speed spring. If this is the original engine for this mower, that engine would be set at that speed for a reason. Maybe to prevent exceeding the maximum safe speed for blade tip rotation.

OK, I will live with 3500ish then, wanted a little more tip speed ;)

It sounds a little clicky at lower revs, 1200-1600, is this normal? I have adjusted the valves.
