2012 MTGHS 48 that I bought used a couple years ago with high hours. The hopper has been slammed down and bounced around a lot in it's short commercial life. A crack has spread up the right front corner of the hopper and needs to be repaired. Previous owner had patched over it on the inside to keep grass from coming out but nothing to reinforce it or fix the actual crack. I'm not sure of what hopper is made of. Fiberglass will probably crack right away.
How can the crack be repaired to last?
Plasti-weld, JBweld, windshield urethane, SMC patch kit?
I plan to add material between hopper and frame to help support it from edge to edge to keep it from flexing down so much. The shock is also shot. Does it hold the hopper up or keep it from coming down to fast?
Extensive Google searching has not revealed an answer so I need some help please. I have yards to cut.
Thanks!
