I was going to post this in the brand specific section, but didn't see one for McLane. Anyway, I'm looking at a used 21" McLane rotary mower, self propelled, and the guy says the self propel stopped working. That's all I've got to go on for now since I haven't seen the mower yet.
I tried to search online but I keep coming up with info on the reel mowers. If somebody who is familiar with these rotary mowers could give me some insight into common issues with the drive system, I'd appreciate it. I've got some tinkering skills, so I don't mind cleaning, adjusting, or replacing parts here and there, but don't want to get something and then hear "Oh, those transmissions are all junk and you have to replace the whole thing", or something like that.
Any thoughts appreciated.
