2012 RZ 5424 ZTR has trouble moving forward. Google search shows that the oil may be getting thin and weak or air could be in the system. Recommends purging the hydro units or changing out oil. What else might the problem be? Purging didn't help much.

Will it mow in reverse? If it does...install a rear-view mirror and mow away! We don't know what Husqvarna RZ5424ZTR is. Give some 'real' numbers so we can look at some schematics.

Forgive me about my above reply. I was watching an interview with Hillary Clinton on HBO and I got really upset.

See if you can find a model and serial #'s and post it here?

Chances are you need to replace the drive belt.

That mower comes with 2 independent EZT intergrated pump / motor units.
Now if only 1 wheel was plaving up you would suspect that wheels drive.
However both wheels would mean simultaneous failure of both drives and that has about he same chances as winning the lottery without a ticket.
However the belt is common to both so a problem with the belt itself or the tension arm or pulley would be No 1 in the list of prime suspects.
