Have had an ongoing problem with the gravely since fairly new, intermittent starting issue...sometimes starts 1st hit, then it is click click click on the solenoid. Finally decided to trace it (with all the recent rain, time to get onto it) it was dirty contacts in the ignition switch plug. So I cleaned the terminals under the switch with sandpaper, hosed out the plugs female terminals with electronic cleaning aerosol and fitted it up with a rubber boot made from a bicycle tube - this is the problem with the compact pro, the ignition switch is totally exposed and a bad design flaw on an otherwise brilliant machine...l know of 2 others who have them and both have the same starting problem

photo shows the inner tube offcut snug around the ignition switch and tied off around the leads with a cable tie

Good idea except it needs a drain otherwise any water that gets inside is trapped forming a perfect advanced corrosion chamber.
Support your local sheep farmer and coat the prongs with lots of lanolin grease before you connect the switch.
