Tricks and tips for removing/dealing with a snapped exhaust stud still in engine block farthest from access points, has anyone got one of these out without pulling the whole engine out to access the stud with a drill?
Photos are each taken into the mouth of the two exhaust ports, you can see the snapped stud almost flush with the block. Problem like every time is access space, this stud is closest to the driver's seat. With only 3 to 3.5 inches gap between the stud and the base plate of the mower frame.middle picture is just for comparison as that is the exhaust port farthest away from the driver's seat easy to get at.

First thought that came to mind was to drill an access hole striaight up through the base plate that the engine sits on and then drill the stud from there. But I'm waiting n the oil cooler seal anyway so why damage it by rushing.

Well, my better self prevailed, i disconnected the engine and lifted it up onto the base plate to get access to the busted exhaust stud, only after that did I realise the Easy out was gone. Soma trip to town tomorrow to buy that then back to the stud.
