My LTX 1050 was doing the same thing, I put a new battery in, cleaned the battery wires, also the battery wire that runs to the starter solenoid was corroded, since I had the solenoid out I put a new one on. Also on mine there is a fuse underneath the seat in the wiring harness, I believe 20 amp, check it, this is a standard automotive fuse. The 1050 then started right up, the corroded connections initially led me to believe it was a starter problem, but it wasn't.
