Just bought a carefully used 2002 Simplicity Regent with 15hp. Intek. Got the user manual but no engine manual. Need to ID the spark plug and gap. Thanks

You can't go wrong with a Champion or Autolite so take one of your plug numbers and cross reference it. Gap isn't real important and most plugs will come close with the correct gap, but the majority of people believe the wider the gap the hotter the spark and better fuel mileage and all that good stuff , and that's mostly blowing smoke. But if you feel better by adjusting a little go ahead and take it down to 0.026" if it comes factory gap 0.030".

Now get ready to hear from the NGK proponents.
