Hello every one.
I am new to the forum, and would like some opinions on the issue with my Kohler Courage 22 hp engine.
I bought the Club Cadet with only 97 hours on the clock.
Did some minor repair such as new blades and spindle.
Lately the engine is blowing white smoke.
I did a compression test and it showed 155 pounds both cylinders.
At first I thought it was the valve seals, so I replaced them.
Then I checked the metal breather reed and it looked good.
The left side ( drivers side ) was dripping oil from the engine, so I changed both head gaskets and sure enough the left side gasket was bad.
There is crankcase pressure as when the dip stick is removed, there is pressure from the crank case as it spits drops of oil from the crank case.
So the problem is it still smokes white smoke.
I have not done a leak down test yet, but was wondering if any one has heard of a Kohler 22 hp engine losing just the oil rings with less than 100 hours on the clock.
I should note that when I pull the plugs, both plugs have the slightest sign of moisture, which could be oil rings, but I find it hard to believe both cylinders lost the oil rings.
Thank you for any tips or advice.
