Hello, new member here.
I bought a used Proturn 260 gravely with a FX751 kawasaki engine a few months ago. It was used commercially and was no
longer sufficient for business.
One of the problems (minor) was a leaking seal on governor arm. But I could not get it out, so I had to split the case. I am
replacing the rings while I have it down.
Here are my two questions. I appreciate any and all help
1. I want to power wash the heads. I am going to remove the valves. Will the power wash damage the valve guides?
2. I have read conflicting information about honing cylinders with new rings. Should I hone the cylinder to make the rings
seating easier? Some of what I read said not too and some said do. Most of what I read was on auto engines
specifically, so I wondered what is the norm for small kawa engines.
Thank you for your help
