Posted this over on the bobcat forum as well but was gonna post here as well to see it if could be an engine specific problem. Hi, I have a mower of a buddies that won't run. He said he was mowing with it and it cut off. Could turn it over and would kind o hit but smelled flooded so I pulled the plugs, cleaned them and reinstalled. Now it Wil crank and run for about 1 second and cut off. I put my spark tester on and it seems that both cylinders lose fire once it cranks. Any ideas on what that could be? I unplugged the oil pressure senso and that didn't help but I cant remember if I need to ground the wire for it to run correctly or not. It has the 27 hp kohler

If the oil level is too low, the mower will no start & some will stop, depending upon how the oil sensor is wired in, some won't start if it is disconnected.

REmove the blower housing and disconnect the 2 wires to the ignition coils.
Try to run the engine ( note you will need to ground out them to stop it ). spark tester still connected.
If it runs OK you have a problem with the mowers wiring.
If it does the same you have a problem with the coils
