I have found a 2016 Gravely Pro-Turn 152 with 65 hours for $6,400. Is this a fair price or should I attempt to negotiate the price down?

I was also told that was a out the door "cash" price, no tax. That would save me approximately $1,500 over a new mower.

The mower is covered under warranty until 5/31/2018 (a little over a year).

I was quoted $7,299 for the same mower new.

Out the door price for the new mower will be $7,299 + $584 (8% tax) = $7,882.92 vs. $6,400 for the used.

So, is ~ $1,500 off the price of the new mower a good deal, or should I look elsewhere?

In my opinion it is a good deal if you like it. Try it out and make sure you are happy. They are well built machines.

A little over a year (how many hours?) is not a good warranty...I'd look elsewhere.

Tell you what: if you're not in a pinch, register at PROXIBID dot COM, navigate to "landscaping equipment" and pick "your State" or reasonable distance from where you at. Make your choice and bid on it on line. You'll get a mower like the one you're talking about for $3000-4000. Once you win, go rent a trailer from U-Haul (if you don't have one) and go pick that bad boy up. Good luck.

i.e: this last Saturday in my State a 2006 John Deere X728 ultimate with 800 hours sold for $3000..etc.

You might want to investigate the warranty, on the Gravely site, it says warranty to the the original purchaser. I'm not sure you would have a warranty, unless the dealer has some way to give you one, and I would definitely have it in my contract, signed and dated by the dealer if it was me, good luck.

The dealer stated that there is no hour limit on the warranty and I would be provided paperwork in the event I needed to use another dealer for servicing.

So, which is the better deal? Is the extra 9 month warranty worth ~ $1,500?

- 2016 Pro-Turn 152 Kawasaki FX, 65 hours, with a 15 month warranty for $6,400
- 2017 Pro-Turn 152 Kawasaki FX, 0 hours, with a 24 month (36 month for spindles) for $7,883

If it was me I would leave the 1500 dollars in the bank. Just what are the chances that you will need any warranty work. Small repairs, adjustments, and maintenance are not covered anyways. My Ferris is 17 years old and I sure haven't spent 1500 dollars on repairs. Yes something major can happen but that is just a gamble are you willing to take? You know that better then anybody on this forum. Some people buy service agreements but I think they are a waste of money myself. I don't know about you but I am in the repair business so I do all my own work anyways.
