Hi I hope someone can help..

I have a Poulan PP19A42 7 months old, not much used, all was working well until she slowed to a halt.. no drive

On inspection right at the rear of the machine there's a mechanism that raises the lower half of a pulley to adjust the variable speed.. the bottom part of this had melted
Whatever used to act a bearing that put pressure on the lower pully half was gone and the base that held it was deeply grooved and melted..

In the manual there are no part numbers for this, its all shown as a complete rear drive unit.. the only reference I can find is drive-tex VATR PEDAL 33...

Anyone any ideas how to source these parts ?

Thanks :)

Steve

Sure looks like it - I couldn't find anything on the unit itself, it may be hidden due to being so crammed in there
I had also scoured the web with no result.

Many thanks indeed !! much appreciated :)

It is 7 months old. It should be under warranty.

Thank you. yes it is but I'm having trouble getting it done under warranty and rather than exhaust myself with that I'd rather get the part and fix it

An update for anyone finding themselves in the same situation.. The dealer was not happy to repair it under warranty as I'd already removed the unit and I smelled some serious charges in the works so I declined taking it in...

It wasn't possible to read the barcode to identify the type of drive as it was so buried deep in there but i got my digital camera in there and snagged the image in the end.. http://services.generaltransmissions.com/en/ride-on-2.html

The barcode didn't identify if the model was the /p or the /f but I called the company and they set me straight which one was the pedal operated....

I only found the actual part available in two places, one was ebay and around $80+ the other was ordertree.com at around $56 plus $10 shipping so i got myself one ....

Here are the manuals and parts lists

Thank you again ...
