hello, i have a Kohler 20hp that is driving me crazy. the engine will only turn over maybe 1/4 of a turn and stop, go past the hard spot and stop again. i have replaced the battery, solenoid, and starter. even tried to jump start it from a car battery with the same results. so does this sound more like the ACR than any thing else? and if so how is this fixed? the model # is SV710S

Sounds like a ACR issue. That engine should have adjustable valve clearances, so may want to check that before diving into anything serious.

If it were mine, I'd pull the spark plugs & try spinning it by hand.

HI, thanks for the reply, I have pulled the plugs and it will spin just fine with the starter.

set your valve clearances before looking at anything else, imho
