I/C 12hp Governor spring

After cleaning my newest purchase of a LawnChief 12-39,I noticed this small spring on the governor linkage.It is really fragile.What does it do and where does it attach to??

It attaches in a small hole of the governor arm and the other end in a small hole in the throttle butterfly arm and is to keep the slop out of the linkage to keep the engine from "stuttering".

Thanks for the info!It does have a bit of a stutter or hunt to it.

It took a little doing,but,I got it attached.Runs better!
