I'm looking at a zg222 with higher hours. Priced at @1500. Question is how good are these mowers how well do they hold up ? Or should I just move on.

They are pretty good as far as quality. I have one with several hundred on it also. It has been a relatively trouble free mower mechanically. At this point I have a blower on it and use it to get leaves up and as a fourth back up incase I have more than one mower down. If I were looking to buy another mower I would not buy the Kubota. You can many times buy other brands cheaper and they will out cut the Kubota. I had a ZD 326 that I traded in with 800 hours on it. Scag, Gravely, Hustler, and Bobcat are a few that will out cut them. Especially the ZG 200 series. If I had it to do over again I would not have bought the one that I have.

Hope that helps.
